Biography
Our lab studies neurodegenerative disease in the broader context of brain development, focusing on the mechanisms of tau regulation. We take advantage of the unique physiology of the developing brain to investigate the mechanisms that may be specific to diseases such as Alzheimer's. I study the regulation of tau protein binding activity to 14-3-3 β and how this interaction might contribute to the pathogenicity of tau in Alzheimer's and other dementias.
