I study the cellular and molecular mechanisms of axon degeneration. I am specifically interested in a group of proteins called stathmins, which regulate microtubule dynamics in axons. I am especially interested in how stathmins may regulate axon transport. Our lab utilizes a cell culture model, functional assays, biochemical techniques, and live imaging to study axon biology.
