Biography

My research broadly focuses on the neurobiology of learning and memory. Specifically, I study the basolateral amygdala and its role in modulating consolidation for different types of memories. I use optogenetics to manipulate neural pathways after different learning experiences to determine critical pathways for consolidating different types of memories. The goal of this research is to give us a better understanding of memory processes in the brain.
