Dr. Hoth is a board certified clinical neuropsychologist with expertise in aging and cognitive changes associated with chronic medical illnesses.  She received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Iowa and completed both her pre-doctoral internship and a two-year fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology at Brown University.  Her research focuses on two major themes: 1) identifying physiological mechanisms that impact the brain in adults with chronic cardiopulmonary diseases, and 2) psychological adjustment, particularly anxiety and depression, in chronic lung disease. She has received research awards including a Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (F32), a Clinical-Translational Research Scholar Award (KL2), a Patient-Oriented Career Development Award (K23), and a NIH Research Project Grant (R01).  She has an interest in education, specifically related to professional career development.
