Please join the Neuroscience Graduate Program in congratulating Matthew Summerfield, a Neuroscience graduate student, on being awarded an F31 Individual Predoctoral Fellowship from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS)!

Matthew’s funded project, “Determining the Role of the Parabrachial Nucleus in Chemosensitivity and Epilepsy,” will investigate the role of the parabrachial nucleus in the relationship between chemosensitivity and epilepsy. This fellowship will support Matthew’s continued research training as he works to advance our understanding of the neural mechanisms underlying these conditions.

The NIH F31 fellowship provides support for promising predoctoral researchers pursuing mentored research training, and this award represents an exciting recognition of Matthew’s research potential and dedication to neuroscience.
