GINA MORENO—FEATURED SPEAKER AT RECEPTION HONORING DOCTORAL DEGREE RECIPIENTS

 

Gina Moreno, PhD UIowa Graduate College ReceptionGina Moreno, PhD UIowa Graduate College ReceptionGina Moreno, who received her PhD in neuroscience on Friday, May 15, was the featured speaker at the Graduate College Doctoral Degree Recipients' reception.

Moreno studied with Natalie Denburg and Dan Tranel. During her time at Iowa, she won a National Science Foundation GRFP (Graduate Research Fellowship Program).

 

After graduation, Moreno will begin a postdoctoral fellowship and assistant professor position at New York University.

"Gina is an amazing student, hard worker, and a great risk taker with opportunities," Jennifer Teitle, associate director of the Office of Graduate Student Success. According to Teitle, these are among the key qualities that enable graduate students to succeed in forging their career path both inside and outside of the academy.
