A neuropsychological investigation of music, emotion, and autobiographical memory

Biography

I am currently working a number of research projects investigating music and the brain. In one study, I am looking at how focal brain lesions affect the ability to recognize and name famous musical melodies. I also am working with a population of patients undergoing intracranial monitoring for pharmacoresistant epilepsy, investigating the effects of expectancy on musical chord perception. Another study I am working on will use functional imaging and the lesion method to investigate the neural underpinnings of music-evoked autobiographical memories. Another project will investigate focal lesions that produce a selective musical anhedonia.
