Biography
I work in the Attachment and Neurodevelopment Lab, looking at the effects of maternal addiction on mother-infant bonding. I am specifically interested in if/how addiction can alter the neural activation of the salience network when mothers are viewing their own child versus an unknown child's face. I am using functional MRI to assess any differences in neural activation in mothers with addiction versus healthy controls. Additionally, I am exploring the idea that intranasal oxytocin may be used to bring this altered activation to a healthy baseline.
Left program with Masters Degree in May 2024.
