The Role of Brain PPARγ in Regulation of Energy Balance and Glucose Homeostasis
Biography
I am interested in the molecular mechanisms that govern the central regulation of metabolism and energy homeostasis. In particular, signaling by the neuronal Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptor gamma, a nuclear receptor and transcription factor, may represent a critical central mechanism that is perturbed in common states of obesity and insulin resistance.
