Gage Liddiard
Due to the lack of discovery of novel Anti-seizure medications, especially for those suffering from treatment-resistant neonatal epilepsy, our lab hopes to find novel treatments for this age group and to uncover the molecular mechanisms of said treatments. My current project consists of investigating the effect of THIP, a delta-subunit specific GABA-A agonist, on Seizure-like-events in a WT mouse model in both neonatal and adult ages. Future directions for this project generally include investigating GABA receptor internalization and delta subunit expression changes over time and concentrations of drug.
