Biography

Britt supports the Biomedical Sciences Program (BSP) – Molecular Medicine and the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program (IDGP) – Neuroscience within the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (OGPS) at the University of Iowa. As an Academic Program Management and Services Associate, she works closely with graduate students, faculty, and program leadership to support the academic and professional development of more than 90 doctoral students. Her work encompasses program administration, student progress and degree milestones, communications, events, and the many details that help graduate programs run effectively.

Britt is passionate about graduate student success and believes that strong academic programs are built not only on excellent research and mentorship, but also on creating an environment where students feel welcomed, supported, and connected. She brings a student-centered perspective to her work and is known for her empathy, authenticity, humor, and ability to navigate the practical challenges of graduate education with both care and creativity.

A University of Iowa alumna, Britt has been part of the university community since 2013. She earned a Bachelor of Liberal Studies in Health and Human Studies before spending three years in Suwon, South Korea, teaching English as a Second Language. After returning to Iowa, she joined the University of Iowa in 2020 and developed a diverse background spanning clinical, administrative, and academic program support. Prior to joining OGPS in 2024, she worked in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, supporting retina ocular oncology and uveitis specialists as a Scribe before serving as the Administrative Services and Fellowship Coordinator for the Glaucoma service.

Britt brings a broad perspective to her work in graduate education, shaped by experiences in international education, healthcare, and higher education administration. She especially values the opportunity to help students navigate the complexities of doctoral education and to make what can sometimes be an overwhelming process feel a little more manageable.
