Biography

In my career, I aspire to conduct translational research aimed at understanding the neurobiological changes underpinning the development of prosocial behavior and how it relates to other systems, particularly social cognition. Multiple psychiatric disorders emerge during adolescence and are linked to impairments in social behavior. Insight into how prosocial behaviors develop would provide an improved understanding of the basis of these disorders. I plan to apply such knowledge to create targeted interventions during critical periods in development designed to promote psychological well-being. As a graduate student in The University of Iowa’s Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Neuroscience, I am thrilled to continue my career in the pursuit of gaining knowledge that can effect positive change in people’s quality of life.
