Biography

Dr. Jiang received her PhD degree in Psychology from Humboldt University of Berlin & Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences in Germany. Next, she completed a postdoctoral training in clinical affective neuroscience at Stanford University & VA Palo Alto and an additional postdoctoral training in network neuroscience at Harvard Medical School & Brigham and Women’s Hospital. In 2022, Dr. Jiang joined the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and Stead Family Children’s Hospital as an Assistant Professor.

Dr. Jiang directs her lab to better understand the neural and psychological processes (language and emotion) underlying social interaction and their relations to neuropsychiatric and neurodevelopmental disorders. Her lab addresses this topic using an interdisciplinary approach, creatively combining naturalistic behavioral paradigms, neuroimaging (fMRI, fNIRS), neuromodulation (TMS, intracranial stimulation), brain-lesion cases, machine learning, and network analyses.
