Biography
I am broadly interested in testing hypotheses about how the brain encodes and uses sensory information to make inferences about its environment. In particular, I am exploring how humans perform auditory scene analysis (e.g., how people recognize and attend to unique speakers at a cocktail party). I hope to develop probabilistic inference models to approximate human performance and thereby study how humans hear in complex ecological scenes.
