Biography
I study the neural circuitry that underlies addiction using a rat cocaine self-administration paradigm. Specifically, I look at how a region of the prefrontal cortex, the infralimbic cortex, encodes changes in drug availability to inhibit cocaine seeking. I also look at how such learning events after cocaine use alter the dendritic spine structure of infralimbic neurons.
