Students are required to serve at least one semester as a teaching assistant in Medical Neuroscience (small groups and lab), Fundamental Neuroscience, Neurophysiology, or Cognitive Neuroscience.

Opportunities are available for students to organize and present lectures and seminars and to assist in laboratory instruction of undergraduate and health professions students.

Students are encouraged to participate formally as a Graduate Teaching assistant in at least one Neuroscience or Neuroscience Related Course. Typically, a limited number of teaching assistantships are available either through the Neuroscience Program directly, or through related Departments (e.g. Psychology, Biology, Anatomy & Cell Biology).

Students normally pursue teaching assistantships after they have completed the comprehensive examination.
