The 2017 Eastern Iowa Brain Bee will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017. Pre-registration is closed. Please register on-site Saturday starting at 10:30 AM.

Competition in the Eastern Iowa Brain Bee is open to high school students grade 9-12. The winner from this competition will be invited to the National Brain Bee to be held in 2017.

    Enrollment is free for the Iowa Brain Bee.
  • What is a Brain Bee?
    The Brain Bee is a live Question and Answer competition that tests the neuroscience knowledge of high school students.  Students compete to determine who has the “best brain” on topics such as intelligence, memory, emotions, sensations, movement, stress, aging, sleep, addiction, Alzheimer's, and stroke.
  • Study Materials
    All questions for the Eastern Iowa Brain Bee will come from the Brain Facts book published by the Society for Neuroscience.

  • Prizes
First Place: The Eastern Iowa Brain Bee winner will receive a $1,500 Travel Award to compete at the National Brain Bee in Baltimore, MD
Second Place:  The Eastern Iowa Brain Bee second place winner will receive $200.
Third Place:  The Eastern Iowa Brain Bee third place winner will receive $100.
