Research Interests

Investigating the role of disconnection in various cognitive domains (e.g. memory, emotion, attention) by utilizing a method which incorporates connectivity information from a probabilistic fiber tract atlas and traditional proportional group-level voxelwise lesion analysis. In addition to studies on disconnection, I am interested in exploring the neural correlates of consciousness.

Living in Iowa City

My experience in the Neuroscience program at Iowa has been wonderful. The faculty and students are always very accessible and helpful. I especially enjoyed my rotation experience, as I had the opportunity to meet different faculty and learn new techniques and skills that I am using in my current lab. In terms of my experience in Iowa City, it is a great place. The first time I came to visit, I was struck with how comfortable I felt, and in particular the people here are quite friendly and hospitable. In terms of cost of living, Iowa City is extremely affordable. It truly has a small town feel, but with quite a bit to offer in terms of cultural events, activities, and restaurants.
