Dr. Stephen Roper of the University of Miami has an opening for a postdoc to carry on with the imaging studies he is doing on neurotransmission and signal processing in taste buds.  He is taking a somewhat different approach to functional imaging and has identified a unique mechanism for neurotransmitter release in taste buds, not involving vesicular exocytosis.  Attached is a reprint of a recent publication for the students or trainees in the University of Iowa Neuroscience Graduate Program who might be interested.  Please contact Steve Roper if they might like to pursue further training here in his lab.
